Tennessee Ghost Stories: Ghosts in the Gas Station

When you think about haunted places, you don’t typically think about a gas station. However, the convenience store on the corner of Franklin Road and Gresham Lane isn’t your ordinary gas station. It’s where the Battle of Stones River actually began on December 31, 1862.

The corner where the Rebels ambushed the Federal soldiers to jumpstart one of the bloodiest battles in Civil War history is now where a soldier that fell that New Year’s Eve resides. Employees who work at night often hear footsteps and other strange sounds in the backroom. Some told me that they get the eerie sense that they aren’t alone.
