Renowned author and folklorist Allen Sircy, known as the “American Hauntstorian,” announces the release of his latest collection of chilling tales, Southern Ghost Stories: Tennessee Tales 2. Following the success of his 2023 book,
Southern Ghost Stories: Tennessee Tales, Sircy delves deeper into the haunted history of the Volunteer State, presenting a new trove of untold stories gathered from locals across the region.
With over 40 books on ghost stories and American folklore to his name, Sircy has established himself as a leading voice in the genre. His work initially focused on the rich histories of cities like Gallatin, Nashville, and Knoxville. However, as his reputation grew, he found that people from all corners of the state were eager to share their own hometown legends.
“An interesting thing happens when you start writing books about ghost stories—people everywhere want to share their own tales,” Sircy notes in the book’s introduction. “Thanks to my books, everyone has a story to share, and I’ve made it a point to make a note of each one and file it away for future exploration”.
This new volume is the culmination of that exploration, featuring a diverse collection of firsthand paranormal accounts and legends passed down through generations. Readers will be captivated by stories of The Trahern Mansion in Clarksville, Malevolent figures from Cherokee folklore, mysterious lights frequently seen in Smith County, eerie happenings on the campus of East Tennessee State University and inside the infamous Sensabaugh Tunnel.
The book is structured into compelling sections such as “Tennessee Legends,” “Small Town Ghost Stories,” “Graveyard Tales,” and “Unexplained Phenomena,” ensuring a spine-chilling experience for all who dare to read it.
“I’ve collected so many wild stories over the years,” explained Sircy. “There’s just so many small town legends all over Tennessee. I really enjoy doing the Tennessee Tales books because I get to focus on all crazy stories like the the Westmoreland White Thing and Spearfinger.”
