Tennessee Ghost Stories: The North Maple Menace

Built in the late 18th century, the building on North Maple in Murfreesboro is home to an unassuming bar called “Wall Street”.

It’s believed that the 120 year old building is haunted by three spirits, an old man, a child and a woman. Those who work in the establishment have heard people whispering, children giggling and doors slamming when the bar wasn’t open.

The strangest story I heard from an employee took place a few years ago. After opening up the bar one morning, the staff member walked to the back. As she was working in the kitchen she began to hear a clinking sound. When she walked back into the barroom she didn’t seen anyone. Instead, she discovered every ash tray in the building had been lined up in a straight line down the hallway.
